Lately, I have been researching what it means to be a man. I have been using many resources to dig into this and figure this out for myself. I will get into more of these resources in following blog posts.

Jonathan Kent (Superman’s Dad) comes from an era where men were “men.” These men were not afraid to stand up and protect their family and others. These men took action.
The manly qualities that stands out to me in this clip is that of action and restraint. Jonathan took immediate action to help save those in need. He also knew his son could save him in a moments notice but he signaled him to stay put. He did this in order to protect his true identity. The moment when he holds up his hand to stop him is a powerful moment.
